Personal Interests

I love baseball and played into my 50’s before unfortunate accidents rendered me unable to continue to play. Although I love medicine my dream career would have been in baseball. I also enjoy projects around the house and just recently updated our kitchen. I also enjoy exercising on a regular basis and look forward to traveling.

Biography

I graduated from Albemarle County High School near Charlottesville, VA. I attended UVA for undergraduate school and obtained a BA in Chemistry. During my undergraduate education and for two years before Medical School, I also worked at a geochemical lab and thoroughly enjoyed it. My Internal Medicine Residency was at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine where I feel I obtained an excellent clinical experience.

After graduating EVMS in 1991 I returned to Charlottesville and started a private practice. After approximately 4 years I sold it to Martha Jefferson Hospital and worked for them until 2000 at which time I started my own practice again. After 6 years I decided I’d had enough, closed it down and worked for Martha Jefferson at their clinic in Dillwyn, VA. After 3 years there I was hired by Charlottesville Family Medicine and have been there ever since. It has been the best fit for me and I plan on staying here until I retire. I have no particular areas of clinical expertise but feel strong in almost all areas of Internal Medicine.
